Guelph United Premier Women get by North Mississauga

Guelph United struck for their second consecutive win in League1 Ontario Women’s Premier soccer play Saturday as they downed North Mississauga SC 4-1 at Mississauga’s Mattamy Sports Park.

United scored twice in each half for the win. The locals led 2-0 at halftime.

Olivia Rizakos (ninth minute), Victoria Hinchliffe (42nd), Violet Hipkin (52nd) and Sasha Marikano (77th) connected for the goals for Guelph.

Carla Portillo scored in the 67th minute for North Mississauga.

United is sixth in the 10-team league at 4-6-2 (W-L-T) while North Mississauga is eighth at 3-6-3.

United are to host FC London (6-4-2) July 7 at 2 p.m. at the Centennial Bowl.
