Hanover’s power-play goals too much for Patriots

HANOVER – The Mount Forest Patriots gave up a pair of power-play goals as they suffered a 2-1 loss to the Hanover Barons in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Sunday afternoon at Hanover’s P and H Centre.

Hanover scored in the first and third periods while Mount Forest’s goal came in the second.

Thomas Haffner tallied for the Patriots with Dawson Bolger getting an assist.

Orion Hexamer and Brandon Richardson each had a goal and an assist for Hanover while former Patriot Luke Hoelscher also had an assist.

The Patriots outshot the Barons 36-32 and were scoreless on six power plays while Hanover went 2-for-4 on its power play.

David Lobsinger was tagged with the loss in the Mount Forest net while Brendon Landry had the win for Hanover.

Mount Forest is second in the Pollock Division at 19-8-1-0 while Hanover is fifth at 10-15-1-2.

The Patriots are to play the Mitchell Hawks (11-15-1-2) at the Mitchell arena Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
