Hespeler handed shutout loss by Hagersville

HAGERSVILLE – The Hespeler Shamrocks yielded a pair of goals in the third period as they dropped a 3-0 decision to the Hagersville Hawks in a penalty-free Provincial Junior Hockey League game Saturday night at the Hagersville arena.

The game was scoreless until Hagersville’s Peter Cappucci scored with 4:20 to go in the second period. Ralph Taggart and Nick Visser added third-period goals.

Patrick Sanelli, Visser, Wesley Fritz and Taggart each had one assist.

Justin Easter made 19 saves for the shutout for Hagersville.

Connor Pickard made 26 saves for Hespeler.

Hespeler is seventh in the Bloomfield Division with a 2-10-0-0 record. Hagersville is fifth at 5-5-0-2.

The Shamrocks are to host the Port Dover Sailors (6-6-0-0) Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Hespeler Memorial Arena.
