Home sweet home for senior girls’ volleyball squads

GUELPH – It was home sweet home in the District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball league Tuesday as all four of the league’s matches were won by the home squad.

Bishop Macdonell Celtics outlasted the St. James Lions 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 10-25, 25-16, 15-10), Centennial Spartans swept the Orangeville Bears 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-21), Ross Royals defeated the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 26-26) and the Centre Wellington Falcons downed the Lourdes Crusaders 3-1 (25-8, 26-24, 21-25, 25-21).

The results leaves the league with four ties in its standings.

Bishop Mac and Ross are tied for first at 3-0, GCVI and St. James are tied for third at 2-1, Centennial and Centre Wellington are tied for fifth at 1-2 and Orangeville and Lourdes are tied for seventh at 0-3.
