Home teams run away with D10 senior soccer wins
GUELPH – Home teams ran the table in the opening day of the District 10 high school senior boys’ soccer league.
Each of the four games was won by the home team as Centennial Spartans blanked Guelph CVI Green Gaels 3-0, Bishop Macdonell Celtics downed Ross Royals 5-2, St. James Lions shut out Centre Wellington Falcons 4-0 and Lourdes defeated Orangeville by forfeit.
Centennial 3 Guelph CVI 0
Dimitri Papadedes, Aladin Erbab and Hunter Aldred recorded a goal apiece for Centennial while Justin Vanderberg earned the clean sheet in net.
Bishop Macdonell 5 Ross 2
Devon Corbit hit for a hat trick for Bishop Mac while John Gorski and Joseph Raso also scored.
Gray Yates had one of the goals for Ross while the other scorer was unavailable.
St. James 4 Centre Wellington 0
Kean Lam connected for a pair of goals for St. James while single goals were added by Nick Pavone-O’Reilly and Ruben Branco. Dawson Bard and Anthony Cuzen shared the shutout.
Lourdes 1 Orangeville 0
Orangeville forfeited the game.
Centre Wellington 3 St. James 0
Jax Grover, James Graham and Aiden Mead had a goal apiece for Centre Wellington.
Centennial 5 Guelph CVI 1
Ethan Glascott collected a pair of goals for Centennial while single markers were added by Isaac Hayes, Fraaz Kamaldeen and Oscar Kim.
Quinn Moffat had the goal for GCVI.
