It’s two out of three for Gryphon baseball men
GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons added another pair of victories to their OUA men’s baseball record on the weekend as they defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees 11-7 and Ryerson Rams 7-6 Saturday at the Ajax Sportsplex.
Sunday, the Gryphs were defeated 4-2 by the Toronto Varsity Blues at Dan Lang Field in Scarborough.
The results leave the Gryphs tied for second in the 11-team league with 5-2 records. The McMaster Marauders lead at 4-0. Ottawa is 10th at 2-6 and Ryerson (5-4) and Toronto (3-2) are tied for fourth.
The Gryphs have five games on their schedule this week with three of them being non-conference matches.
They’re to host the Toronto Mets Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Pearson Park and play the Brock Badgers in a doubleheader Saturday at St. Catharines.
In league action, the Gryphs are to play McMaster in a doubleheader Sunday at Hamilton’s Carstar Stadium starting at noon.
