
Jr. Gryphon U16s beat Grey-Bruce to halt losing skid
GUELPH – The Guelph Junior Gryphons dropped the Grey-Bruce Highlanders 5-2 in South Central AAA U16 play Sunday at the Victoria Road arena.
The win put an end to a six-game losing streak for the Junior Gryphs.
The Junior Gryphs received goals from five players — Liam Wood, Joshua Davis, Spencer Neal, Brody Verbeek and Ryan Brenton. Davis assisted on two of the goals while single assists were recorded by Kian O’Brien, Vincent Piccone and Nathan Morrow.
Owen Bright was in the Guelph net for the win.
The Junior Gryphs are to play the Halton Hurricanes at the Sherwood Community Centre in Milton Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
