Junior Gryphon AAA minor midgets double Burlington

GUELPH – The Guelph Junior Gryphons posted a 4-2 victory over the Burlington Eagles in South Central AAA minor midget hockey play Saturday at the Gryphon Centre.

The win kept the Junior Gryphs unbeaten in four league outings as they have two wins and two ties.

Guelph scored the only goal of the first period and led 3-1 at the end of the second period.

Liam Power, Jake Karabela, Madden Steen and Rowan Aljoe scored the goals for the hosts while single assists were awarded to Power, Karabela, Ethan Lewis, Liam Stadnyk, Brock Reinhart, Luke Johnston and Kyle Kussmann.

Evan Parisotto picked up the win in net for the Junior Gryphs.

Ryan McGuire and Kyle McMillan responded with single goals for Burlington. Getting one assist apiece were Liam Blackhurst, Cody Inness, Andrew Swartz and Alexandros Economou.

Brett Fullerton was in net for Burlington.

The loss was the first of the season for the Eagles who had won their previous three games.

The Gryphons and Eagles are to play again Monday at Burlington’s Appleby Ice Centre. Game time is 8:45 p.m.
