Junior Gryphon AAA minor midgets shut out Grey-Bruce

GUELPH – Evan Parisotto stopped every shot directed his way to earn the shutout Saturday at the West End arena as the Guelph Junior Gryphons blanked the Grey-Bruce Highlanders 4-0 in South Central AAA minor midget hockey play.

Madden Steen, Nolan Karger, Luke Johnston and Jake Karabela scored a goal apiece for the Junior Gryphs. Steen assisted on two of the goals while single assists were given to Karger, Ethan Lewis, Kyle Kussmann and Karabela.

The Junior Gryphs remain third in the 10-team league at 6-2-2 while Grey-Bruce is fifth at 4-5-1. Southern Tier Admirals (8-1-1) and Burlington Eagles (8-2-1) are tied for first.

The Junior Gryphs have a pair of road games next weekend as they’re to play the Brampton 45s (0-9-3) Saturday at Earnscliffe Arena at 1:45 p.m. and Grey-Bruce at the Chesley Community Centre Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
