Junior Gryphons AAA minor midgets drop Brampton

BRAMPTON – The Guelph Junior Gryphons scored a 5-2 victory over the Brampton 51’s in South Central AAA minor midget hockey league play Monday night at Brampton’s South Fletcher Arena.

Scoring details from the game were not available.

The Junior Gryphs are fourth in the 10-team league with a 3-1-2 record while Brampton is 10th at 0-6-2.

Next up for the Junior Gryphs in league play is a home game against the league-leading Southern Tier Admirals (5-0-1) Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the West End arena. The Admirals have outscored their opponents 38-9 in league play.

The Junior Gryphs are to play in the Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament at London on the Thanksgiving weekend. They’re to play the Barrie Colts Thursday at 4 p.m., South Kent Academy Friday at 9:45 a.m., Peterborough Junior Petes Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Markham Majors Saturday at 1 p.m. in the round-robin portion of the tournament.
