Junior Gryphons U16s edged by Brampton

BRAMPTON – The Guelph Junior Gryphons were nipped 2-1 by the Brampton 45’s Monday in South Central AAA U16 hockey play at Brampton’s South Fletcher’s Sportsplex.

Ben Munro scored the goal for Guelph while Ryan Brenton had an assist on the play.

Aiden Scheerer was in net for the Junior Gryphs.

Owen O’Grady and Jacob Belisle responded with single goals for Brampton while single assists were awarded to Luke Dekay, O’Grady and Ethan Pippo.

Austin McKillop picked up the win in net for Brampton.

The Junior Gryphs are eighth in the league standings at 1-7-2 while Brampton is fifth at 4-3-2.

The locals are to host the Grey-Bruce Highlanders (1-10-1) Sunday at the Victoria Road arena at 4:30 p.m.
