Junior Gryphs AAA minor midgets doubled by Buffalo

GUELPH – The Guelph Junior Gryphons suffered a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Regals in South Central AAA minor midget playoff action Sunday at the Gryphon Centre.

Luke Johnston and Jake Karabela scored the goals for the Junior Gryphs while Rowan Aljoe assisted on both goals and Liam Stadnyk also had an assist.

Evan Parisotto was in net for the Junior Gryphs.

Scoring details for Buffalo were not available.

The result leaves the Junior Gryphs at 1-1-0 in Group B of the quarter-finals. The group involves the teams that finished third through seventh in the regular season.

Buffalo leads the group at 2-0-0 while the Oakville Rangers are at 1-0-0. Burlington Eagles are at 0-1-0 and Grey-Bruce Highlanders are at 0-2-0.

Next game for the Junior Gryphs is Sunday when they’re to host Grey-Bruce at the Gryphon Centre. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
