KDSL Gryphons add to unbeaten streak

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons extended their undefeated streak in Kitchener and District Soccer League Men’s Division play to four games Sunday afternoon at the Centennial Bowl.

A 3-0 victory over Listowel United was the third win in four games for the Gryphs. The other game was a tie. The Guelph side had lost their first four league games of the season

Brett King, Mitchell Lawson and Nick Nowak scored a goal apiece against Listowel United (1-9-0).

Next game for the Gryphs is a match against the Bridgeport Strikers (5-2-1) Sunday at 4 p.m. at Bloomingdale.

The Guelph Oaks won their fourth consecutive league game as they downed JJD Sports 2-0 Saturday at Centennial Bowl.

Michael Ojkic and Martino Raso scored the goals for the Oaks.

The win streak has vaulted the Oaks to the top of the league at 4-2-1. JJD Sports is seventh at 0-5-1.

The two teams are to play again Sunday at 6 p.m. at Vaughan.
