KDSL Gryphons get first win by edging Listowel United
LISTOWEL – The Guelph Gryphons collected their first win of the Kitchener and District Soccer League’s Men’s League season Sunday when they edged Listowel United 1-0 at Optimist Park.
James Templeman scored the game’s only goal.
The win followed three losses in league play for the Gryphons including a 3-1 loss to the Supersonics Thursday at Eastview Park when Mitch Lawson scored for the locals. Joel Parada had two goals for the Supersonics and Brandon Peter netted the other goal.
The loss was for Listowel United was their third in as many league matches.
The Gryphons are to host the league-leading Polish Eagles Kitchener SC Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at Eastview Park.
The Guelph Gryphons picked up their first win of the KDSL Women’s League when they defeated Stratford CT 3-1 at Festival Hydro Park in Stratford last Wednesday.
Scoring details were not recorded.
The result leaves the Gryphons at 1-2-0 and Stratford CT at 0-2-1.
Next league game on the Guelph team’s schedule is a 6:30 p.m. match June 17 against league-leading Banat FC (3-0-1) at Kitchener.
