Kroes second overall, Greulich top female in Tinman Triathlon

ELMIRA – David Kroes of Ross finished as the runner-up in the Tinman Triathlon event for high school students hosted last week by the Elmira District Secondary School.

Kroes finished the event in one hour, two minutes and 55 seconds.

Adriaan Breytenbach of Waterloo-Oxford won in 1:00:53 while Adam Huras of Waterloo-Oxford was third in 1:03:59 and Kelton Langman of Waterloo CI was fourth in 1:04:04.

The top three competed in the senior boys’ class while Langman was first in the junior boys’ class.

Top female finisher and first in the senior girls’ class was Kassidy Greulich of Guelph CVI. She was fifth overall in 1:05:24.

Other locals in the top 10 included Luke Lawson of Ross in sixth at 1:05:46 and Taylor Embree of Ross in 10th, second female finisher, in 1:07:19.

Christopher Grimwood of Centennial won the staff event with a time of 1:06.39.
