Late goal gives Green Gaels soccer girls first win of D10 season
GUELPH – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels struck for their first win of the District 10 high school girls’ soccer season Tuesday when they edged the Lourdes Crusaders 1-0.
Tessa Ladhani scored the game’s only goal on a free kicks with about two minutes to play.
Reilly Wheelhouse picked up the clean sheet for the Gaels.
The result leaves the Gaels at 1-1-3 and the Crusaders at 1-3-1.
Each team in the league is to play again Thursday and complete their regular season Tuesday.
All eight teams in the league qualify for the playoffs.
Ross 3 Centennial 1
Jordan Faveri tallied twice for Ross while Emma Elliot added the other goal.
Jasmine Burke netted the lone goal for Centennial.
Ross moves to 3-1-1 with the win while Centennial falls to 0-3-2.
Orangeville 1 Centre Wellington 0
Alicia Bowering collected the game’s only goal to give Orangeville its first win of the season.
Orangeville is at 1-2-2 and Centre Wellington’s at 2-2-1.
St. James 2 Bishop Macdonell 0
Olivia Brown scored both goals.
