Lions split matches at field lacrosse festival
OWEN SOUND – The St. James Lions had a win and a loss on the opening day of the Ontario provincial high school OFSAA A/AA field lacrosse festival Monday.
The Lions were dropped 12-2 by the Governor Simcoe Redcoats of St. Catharines in their opening game and they edged Huntsville Hoyas 7-6 in their second game.
The 1-1-0 record left the 11th-seeded Lions second in their three-team pool and put them into a pool that is to battle for a fifth-place finish Tuesday.
The Lions are to play the Patrick Fogarty Flames of Orillia in their Tuesday morning match.
