Lions sweep Gaels to keep grip on second in senior volleyball

GUELPH – The St. James Lions kept hold of their share of second place in the District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball standings Tuesday as they swept the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 3-0.

The Lions won 25-21, 25-22, 27-25.

The win lifts the Lions to 4-1, same as the Bishop Macdonell Celtics. The Ross Royals lead at 5-0 while the Centennial Spartans, Centre Wellington Falcons and GCVI are tied for fourth at 2-3. The Orangeville Bears are seventh at 1-4 and Lourdes Crusaders eighth at 0-5.
