Lobsinger gets shutout as Patriots blank Kincardine

KINCARDINE – David Lobsinger stopped all 35 shots he faced to get the shutout as the Mount Forest Patriots blanked the Kincardine Bulldogs 4-0 in Provincial Junior Hockey League play in Kincardine’s Davidson Centre Saturday night.

The Patriots scored three of their goals in the first period while the other one was netted in the second.

Nathan Bolger, Michael Stefanelli, Thomas Haffner and Jack Birkett each had a goal for the Patriots while Birkett and Troy Weber each had two assists and Stefanelli had one assist.

Kincardine outshot the Patriots 35-28 and neither team registered a power-play goal – Mount Forest on four power plays and Kincardine on five.

The win was the eighth in a row for the Patriots who are second in the Pollock Division at 18-6-1-0, two points behind the Wingham Ironmen (19-5-1-0) and five up on Kincardine (15-11-1-1).

The Patriots are to play the Ironmen at Wingham Friday at 7:30 p.m. to start a three-in-three weekend as they’re to host Walkerton Hawks (7-14-3-3) Saturday and play the Hanover Barons (7-15-1-2) at Hanover Sunday.
