Lobsinger, Patriots blank Kincardine
MOUNT FOREST – David Lobsinger stopped all 28 shots directed his way to get the shutout as the Mount Forest Patriots slipped by the Kincardine Bulldogs in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Saturday night at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.
Owen Rahn opened the scoring in the game with less than five minutes to go in the first period and Ryley Cribbin added an empty-netter with 1:09 to go in the third.
Assists went to Dawson Bolger, Jack Francis, Klayton Hoelscher and Thomas Haffner.
The teams each took 28 shots on net and both went 0-for-2 on their power plays.
Craig Luinstra was charged with the loss. He had 26 saves in the Kincardine net.
Mount Forest is second in the Pollock Division at 27-9-1-0 while Kincardine is third at 20-16-1-2.
The Patriots have five games to go in their regular season and can finish no lower than second in the division. They’re to play the seventh-place Goderich Flyers (8-25-2-3) at the Goderich Maitland Recreation Complex Friday at 7:55 p.m. and host the fifth-place Walkerton Hawks (11-20-3-4) Saturday at 8 p.m.
