Lowy, Lamenta help Gryphon hockey women top Queen’s

KINGSTON – Kaitlin Lowy’s power-play goal late in the first period stood up as the game’s only goal as the Guelph Gryphons slipped by the Queen’s Gaels in OUA women’s hockey play Saturday at the Kingston Memorial Arena.

Claire Merrick and Laura Crowdis assisted on the goal that came with 3:30 to go in the opening period.

Fifth-year goaltender Valerie Lamenta stopped all 29 shots she faced for her third shutout of the season and 21st in OUA regular-season play during her time with the Gryphs.
