Lumani legs it out to win Summer Night’s Classical 5K

GUELPH – Josh Lumani of London led most of the way to capture top spot in Wednesday night’s Summer Night’s Classical 5K road race.

Lumani finished the distance in a time of 15 minutes, 54.1 seconds.

Liam Stiles of Guelph was the runner-up in 16:35.6 while Luke Aikman of Baden placed third in 17:02.3.

Kathryn Dean of Guelph was the top female finisher as she was 13th overall in 19:27.6.

Heather Pady of Mono was 19th overall in 19:53.9 and she was one place ahead of Mary Catherine Stewart of Guelph who completed the race in 19:58.2.

The race started on Cardigan Street in front of the Guelph Youth Music Centre and finished on the trail behind the centre.

Along the way the participants were serenaded by musicians.

The race featured 217 finishers ranging in age from three to 83.
