Mapleton-Minto 81’s blanked by league leaders

CLINTON – The Mapleton-Minto 81’s suffered a 6-0 loss to the league-leading Clinton Radars Friday night in Western Ontario Athletic Association senior men’s hockey league play at the Central Huron Community Centre.

Clinton scored twice in the first period and once in the second.

League scoring leader Stephen Sanza hit for a hat trick for Clinton while Kurtis Bartliff scored twice and Derek Elliott added the other goal.

Greg Dodds picked up the shutout, his second of the season for Clinton.

Ben Nelson was charged with the loss in net for the 81’s.

Clinton leads the league at 16-1-0-0 while Mapleton-Minto is fourth at 9-5-2-1.

The 81’s are to play the Elora Rocks (8-8-1-0) Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Elora and District Community Centre.
