MILVERTON – The Elora Rocks surrendered the first three goals of the game as they suffered a 6-2 loss to the Milverton Four-Wheel Drives in Western Ontario Athletic Association senior men’s hockey league A championship final series play Saturday night at the Perth East Recreation Complex.

The result ties the best-of-seven series at two wins apiece. The A segment of the league’s playoffs are for teams that finished the regular season ninth or lower in the 14-team league.

Dennis Dewar tallied twice for Milverton while single goals were added by Chad Bauman, Mitchell Boertien, Simon Johnson and Mike Therrien.

The result leaves Elora at 8-3-0 in the playoffs and Milverton at 8-4-0. The Rocks had finished the regular season 11th at 9-12-1-0 while the Drives were 12th at 3-17-1-1.

Fifth game of the series is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Elora and District Community Centre while Game 6 is to go Saturday at 7 p.m. at Milverton.

If the series goes its seven-game limit, the seventh and deciding game is to be played March 23 at Elora starting at 8 p.m.
