More of the same as Gryphon soccer women get shutout victory

WATERLOO – Another OUA women’s soccer outing for the Guelph Gryphons and guess what – another shutout victory.

Guelph goalkeeper Libby Brenneman picked up her fifth shutout of the season as the Gryphs edged the Waterloo Warriors 1-0 Sunday at Warrior Field.

It was the sixth consecutive shutout victory for the Gryphs and their eighth shutout of the season.

Vanessa Mazur’s goal in the 64th minute was the game’s only tally.

The Gryphs outshot Waterloo 9-0 with eight of the shots getting through to the net guarded by Morgan Berg.

Guelph leads the West Division at 7-0-2 while Waterloo falls to 3-4-3.

The Gryphs are to host the Brock Badgers (2-4-3) Saturday at 1 p.m.
