No road trip Wednesday, Storm’s at home instead

GUELPH – The Guelph Storm won’t be hitting the road Wednesday, they’ll be staying in the Royal City to end their holiday break in league play in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Storm are to host the Windsor Spitfires in a 7 p.m. contest at the Sleeman Centre. They were originally to have played the Flint Firebirds at Flint, but that game has been postponed.

Wednesday’s game against Windsor is a make-up for the game that was originally scheduled for last Thursday, but was postponed due to Windsor’s COVID protocols.

The Firebirds will also be playing Wednesday, but not at home. They’ll travel to Saginaw for a 7:05 p.m. game there. That’s a rescheduled game from a Dec. 18 postponement.

Saginaw was originally scheduled to host Windsor Wednesday.

The rescheduling of the games gets rid of all cross-border travel.

Wednesday’s game is to be the first for the Storm since Dec. 18. The Spitfires have played once since then – a 6-3 loss to the Kitchener Rangers in Kitchener last Tuesday.
