Norwell extends lead in girls’ hockey
ERIN – The Norwell Varsity Reds picked up two wins and a tie in District 4 high school girls’ hockey play Thursday as four of the league’s five teams gathered at the Centre 2000 arena for a mini tournament.
The Varsity Reds tied the Centre Dufferin Royals 1-1 and defeated the Westside Thunder 4-2 and Erin Raiders 5-3.
Norwell leads the league at 6-1-2 while the idle Wellington Heights Wolverines are at 3-2-1. Erin follows at 2-5-2 while Westside is at 1-2-3 and Centre Dufferin trails at 0-2-4.

Morgan Sadler scored the game’s only goal with help from Serena Basile.

Morgan Bennington had the goal for Centre Dufferin while Presley Brooking tallied for Norwell.

Morgan Sadler had a hat trick for Erin while the other scorers were not reported.
Morgan Bennington scored for Centre Dufferin.
Norwell 4 Westside 2
Ella Black had a pair of goals for Norwell while single goals were netted by Presley Brooking and Mia Landry.
Westside received goals from Madi Ouelette and Emma Duffenais.

Shutouts were recorded by Hannah Bremner of Centre Dufferin and Jennifer Grant of Westside.

Ella Black connected for a hat trick for Norwell while Mary Mackenzie and Chelsey Grice also scored.
