Norwell grabs lead after start of D4 girls’ hockey season
PALMERSTON – The Norwell Varsity Reds left the opening regular-season mini-tournament of the District 4 high school girls’ hockey season with the league lead.
While Norwell and the Westside Thunder both finished play Thursday at the Palmerston arena undefeated, Norwell had two wins and a tie while Westside had a win and two ties.
Wellington Heights Wolverines had a win and two losses while the Erin Raiders had two wins and a tie.
Centre Dufferin Royals were idle and will start play in the next mini-tournament Dec. 6 at Mount Forest.

Brooklyn Greig and Emma Duffenais scored for Westside.
Leah Lecourtois and Presley Brooking had the goals for Norwell.

Chloe Kaye hit for a pair of goals for Norwell while Ella Black, Chelsey Grice and Mia Landry also scored.
Westside 2 Wellington Heights 0
Miranda Wheeler and Madison Oullette collected a goal apiece for Westside. Jen Grant picked up the shutout.
Westside 2 Erin 2
Taylor Clark and Madi Mugridge hit for a goal apiece for Westside.
Morgan Sadler scored for Erin.
