Norwell seniors in soccer final, juniors win soccer title

PALMERSTON – The Norwell Varsity Reds advanced to Wednesday’s District 4 high school senior boys’ championship game with a 6-0 semifinal victory over the Centre Dufferin Royals Monday at the Palmerston arena fields.

Adam Chittick had a hat trick for Norwell while Ian Geffros added a pair of goals and Quinton Carere had the other one.

Shawn Culp recorded the clean sheet in the Norwell net.

Norwell advances to face the Emmanuel Christian Eagles in Wednesday’s final. Game time at Victoria Park in Fergus is 2:30 p.m.

 

Junior

Norwell Varsity Reds claimed the D4 junior boys’ soccer title Monday with a 3-2 win over the Westside Thunder at the Palmerston arena fields.

Jacob Carter, Jake George and Owen Weltz each had a goal for Norwell.

Tyler Bradbury scored both goals for Westside.

Westside gained its berth in the final with a 5-1 semifinal victory over the Centre Dufferin Royals Friday at Orangeville.

T. DesHaies had two goals in that game while Bradbury, Chris Sramek and C. Taylor also scored.

Aidan Mackenzie had the goal for Centre Dufferin.

Norwell advances to be D4’s representatives in the CWOSSA junior tournament Thursday and Friday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
