Orangeville takes two to open D4/10 field hockey season

GUELPH – The Orangeville Scarlet Bears opened the District 4/10 high school girls’ field hockey season with a pair of victories at Bishop Macdonell Monday.

The Bears defeated the Wellington Heights Wolverines 5-0 and the host Bishop Mac Celtics 3-0.

Bishop Mac edged Wellington Heights 1-0 in the season opener.

Samantha Tracey’s goal in the first half stood up as the game’s only goal.

 

Orangeville 5 Wellington Heights 0

The Bears scored three times in the first seven minutes of the game and four times in the first half.

Orangeville received four goals from Sarah Innes and one from Jamie Hearder.

Carissa Potton was credited with the shutout.

 

Orangeville 3 Bishop Macdonell 0

Emily Curry had a pair of goals for Orangeville while Sarah Innes also scored.
