Orangeville victorious to start senior hoops season

ORANGEVILLE – The Orangeville Scarlet Bears opened their District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball season with a 60-37 victory over the Centre Wellington Falcons at home Tuesday.

Alicia Bowering hit for 21 points for Orangeville while Alina Dineley had 18 and Morgan Wilson netted 10.

Josie Hayward had 12 for Centre Wellington while Madison Prior collected six.

 

Ross 55 Guelph CVI 7

Ross received 17 points from Kyla O’Driscoll and 12 from Brooklyn Cracknell.

Jillian Pressey had three for GCVI while Shannon Westwood and A. Stewart added two apiece.

 

Centennial 52 St. James 43

Guelph CVI 52 Ross 22

Nyssa Matthews led GCVI with 11 points while Acadia Tremain had nine and Jordyn Best gathered eight.

Ailani Curvan had 15 for Ross while Bronwyn Sweeny added five.

 

Orangeville 44 Centre Wellington 23

B. Gott had 11 points to lead Orangeville while T. Williamson added nine and Olivia Stephenson had eight.

B. Hattle had seven for Centre Wellington.
