Pair of boys’ hockey games postponed

GUELPH – Both District 4/10 high school senior boys’ hockey games scheduled to be played Monday were postponed due to the labour issues at the local schools.

The Bishop Macdonell Celtics were to have played the St. James Lions at the Victoria Road arena in the season opener for both teams while the Centre Wellington Falcons were to have hosted the Erin Raiders at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus in the season opener for Erin. The Falcons had defeated the Ross Royals in their season opener last Friday at the Victoria Road arena.

Makeup dates for Monday’s postponed games have not been decided.

Tuesday’s pair of games are to be played as scheduled.

Centennial Spartans are to host the Orangeville Bears at Centennial arena at 1:30 p.m. and the Ross Royals are to play the Norwell Varsity Reds at the Palmerston arena at 3 p.m.

The games are to be the season openers for the Spartans and Varsity Reds while Ross defeated Orangeville in the league opener Oct. 28.

Two games are also to be played Thursday.
