Patriots give up four in second to fall to Kincardine
KINCARDINE – The Mount Forest Patriots yielded four goals in the second period as they fell 5-1 to the Kincardine Bulldogs in Provincial Junior Hockey League play at the Davidson Centre Sunday.
After a scoreless first period, Kincardine scored four in a row in the second before Benjamin Demoe tallied for Mount Forest on a power play at 12:40.

Steven Grant had two goals for Kincardine while singletons were netted by Ben Nauta, Carter Servais and Gavin Gibbons. Bryce McFadden collected two assists while Jerrid Fossold, Ryan Litt, Servais, Gavin Downs, Gibbons, Jordan Moulton and Joseph Pringle each had one.
The Patriots outshot Kincardine 35-33 and each team scored a power-play goal. Mount Forest had five manpower advantage situations in the game and Kincardine had seven.
The Bulldogs also had a shorthanded goal and an empty-netter.
Ryan Tanner picked up the win in net for Kincardine with 34 saves while Joshua Peters had 28 saves in the loss for Mount Forest.
The Patriots are fourth in the Pollock Division at 6-4-0-1 while Kincardine is fifth at 4-6-0-1.
The Patriots have two games next weekend as they’re to host the Walkerton Hawks (sixth at 2-8-0-1) Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex and play the Goderich Flyers (seventh at 0-11-0-0) Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Goderich Maitland Recreation Centre.
