Patriots-Wingham Ironmen postponed again

MOUNT FOREST – The final game of the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Pollock Division regular-season schedule has been postponed for a second time due to poor weather.

The game between the Mount Forest Patriots and Wingham Ironmen was originally scheduled for Jan. 25. Then it was postponed to Thursday.

Thursday’s weather has pushed the game to Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.

The Patriots (31-9-1-0) will enter the game in second place in the standings, two points behind Wingham (31-7-2-1). The Ironmen have won three of the five previous games in the regular-season series between the two teams and have outscored Mount Forest by six goals in the process.

The team that finishes first gets a bye in the divisional quarter-finals while the second-place finisher is to play the seventh-place Goderich Flyers (8-29-2-3).

The other two quarter-final series are to start Friday as the fourth-place Hanover Barons (15-21-2-4) are to host the fifth-place Walkerton Hawks (13-22-3-4) and the sixth-place Mitchell Hawks (12-25-2-3) are to play the third-place Kincardine Bulldogs (23-16-1-2) at Kincardine.
