Provincial Elite Gryphon women dropped by Woodbridge

VAUGHAN – The Guelph Gryphons were dropped 6-1 by the Woodbridge Strikers in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial Elite play Thursday night at Vaughan Grove Park.

Victoria Hinchliffe scored Guelph’s lone goal of the game.

Jenny Wolever and Christabel Oduro tallied twice apiece for Woodbridge while single goals were added by Vladanka Gurovski Guest and Ashley Osorio.

The Gryphons are tied for second in the 10-team league at 8-3-1 while Woodbridge is in a tie for fourth at 6-3-2.

The Gryphons have four games to go in their regular season starting with a game Sunday at 8 p.m. against Waterloo United (0-8-1) at the Gryphons Soccer Complex. That game was postponed due by a deluge right at the beginning of the match.

The locals are also to play Waterloo Wildfire (2-4-4) at Waterloo’s Bechtel Park Tuesday at 9 p.m.
