
Quick trio by Wolves sends Storm to another road loss
SUDBURY – The Guelph Storm surrendered three goals in less than six minutes early in the second period as they completed their stretch of five consecutive road games with a 6-3 loss to the Sudbury Wolves in OHL play at the Sudbury Community Arena Friday night.
Sudbury led 2-1 at the end of the first period, but stretched the gap to four goals before the middle frame was eight minutes old.

The Storm got one of the goals back just after the eight-minute mark of the second before the teams scored once apiece in the third.
The Storm finish the stretch of five consecutive road games with a win in a shootout, a loss in a shootout and three losses in regulation time.
Valentin Zhugin, Sasha Pastujov and Payton Robinson scored a goal apiece for Guelph Friday while Matthew Poitras had two assists and Pastujov, Jake Murray, Hunter McKenzie and Zhugin had one apiece.
Nolan Collins, David Goyette, Evan Konyen, Andre Anania, Quentin Musty and Djibril Toure scored for Sudbury. Musty also had three assists while Jacob Holmes and Anania had two apiece. Single assists went to Goyette, Jakub Chromiak, Toure and Nick DeGrazia.
The Storm outshot the Wolves 35-27 and both teams scored twice on their power plays, Guelph having seven power plays and Sudbury having three.
Jacob Oster started in net for the Storm, but was lifted in favour of Dixon Grimes at 7:32 of the second after Sudbury’s fifth goal. Oster had 13 saves and Grimes had eight.
Joe Ranger had 32 saves for the hosts.
The Storm are 10th in the Western Conference at 4-12-2-0 and have played more games than any other team in the conference. They’re two points behind the Kitchener Rangers who have four games in hand and five behind both the London Knights (four games in hand) and Soo Greyhounds (two games in hand).
Sudbury improves its record to 5-8-2-0 with the win and climbed into a tie for seventh in the Eastern Conference with the Oshawa Generals (5-8-0-2).
Sunday, the Storm are to host the Sarnia Sting at the Sleeman Centre. The Sting are tied for fourth in the Western Conference at 8-6-2-1. Game time is 4 p.m.
That game is the first of four consecutive home games for the Storm as they’re to host the Niagara IceDogs (4-9-3-0) Nov. 18, Kitchener Nov. 19 and Owen Sound Attack (10-6-0-0) Nov. 25.
