Raiders get their first win of season in senior hoops

ERIN – The Erin Raiders collected their first victory of the District 4 high school senior boys’ basketball season Wednesday when they edged the Wellington Heights Wolverines 47-45.

The game was the third consecutive home game for the Raiders and it was the season opener for the Wolverines.

Ethan Smith had 15 points for Erin.

Eli McDougall-Cook led Wellington Heights with eight.

 

Centre Dufferin 67 Emmanuel Christian 32

Mark Taylor connected for 27 points as Centre Dufferin won for the third time in three games. Brandon Powell added 10.

Justin Vanwoudenberg netted 12 for Emmanuel Christian and Brayden Taekema had eight.

Centre Dufferin remained unbeaten with the win. T. Crawford had 11 points while Abel Sales and G. Ladner each hit for 10.

C. Vanwoudenberg had five for Emmanuel Christian.

 

Westside 57 Norwell 46

Lucas Horvath had a game-high 30 points for Westside as the Thunder recorded its third win in as many outings.

Connor McCulloch had 24 for Norwell.

 

Erin 67 Wellington Heights 37

Colden Reay led Erin with 34 points.

Will Lewis had seven for Wellington Heights.
