Redcoats women add victory over Balmy Beach
TORONTO – Guelph Redcoats made it two wins in as many Ontario Women’s League Firsts rugby outings Saturday as they downed Balmy Beach at Tubs & Gee Gage Rugby Field.
The Redcoats won 35-7, scoring six tries in the match and yielding one.
Next up for the Redcoats is their home opener next Saturday at Exhibition Park. Game time is 12:30 p.m. and the Brantford Harlequins will supply the opposition.
The Harlequins have a win and a loss as they defeated the Oshawa Vikings 17-5 and lost 38-20 to the Aurora Barbarians.
Marshall Men’s Firsts
Guelph Redcoats were handed a 33-19 setback by Waterloo County in Marshall Division Firsts play Saturday at Bluevale Collegiate in Kitchener.
The loss was the second in as many outings for the Redcoats in their first season in the provincial league.
The Redcoats are to host the Brantford Harlequins in their home opener next Saturday at Exhibition Park. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
The Harlequins have won both of their matches as they defeated London St. George 52-19 and Waterloo County 34-12.
Marshall Men’s Seconds
Guelph Redcoats were defeated 43-5 by Waterloo County Saturday for their second loss of the season.
They had earlier been downed 31-7 by London St. George.
The Redcoats are to play the Brantford Harlequins in their home opener next Saturday at 2 p.m. at Exhibition Park.
