Regals handed setback by Hamilton Bengals

HAMILTON – The Guelph Regals suffered their sixth loss in as many Ontario junior B lacrosse league outings Tuesday when they were handed a 12-8 setback by the Hamilton Bengals at the Dave Andreychuk Arena.

The Regals scored the opening goal of the game, but Hamilton led 5-2 at the end of the first period and 11-4 after the second.

Hamilton outshot the Regals 53-36 and both teams went 2-for-8 on their power plays.

Kent Radbourne had a hat trick for Guelph while Zach Pollock scored twice and David Pavlinich, Carter TenEycke and Quenton Begin added single goals. Braydon Hickey assisted on three of the goals while A.J. Skirving, Daniel Nakatsu and Radbourne each had one assist.

Yvon Bolduc and Luke Robinson tallied three times apiece for Hamilton while Tanner Brenneke netted a pair of goals. Rounding out the scoring with a goal apiece were Ty Argent, Trevor Barrett, Dawson Brown and Jordan Gillis. Barrett assisted on three of the goals while Bolduc, Gillis and Argent had two each and Brenneke, Devyn Mayea, Robinson, Sam Gower, Josh Millette, Harrison LaRochelle and Dawson Brown had one each.

Brady Wilson was tagged with the loss in the Guelph net while Jackson Brown had the win for the Bengals who improve to 4-3-0 with the victory.

Next game for the Regals is a match against the Elora Mohawks (4-3-0) Friday at the Sleeman Centre. Game time is 8 p.m.
