
Regals turn on the power to nip Hamilton
GUELPH – The Guelph Regals made the most of their power plays as they remained unbeaten in the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League following an 8-7 victory over the Hamilton Bengals Friday night at the Victoria Road arena.
The Regals struck for four goals on seven power plays and held Hamilton scoreless on five power plays.

All of Guelph’s goals came in pairs as the Regals scored one pair in the first, a pair in the second, another pair that spanned the second and third periods and their final pair completely in the third.
Hamilton led 3-2 after the first period while the teams were tied 5-5 at the end of the second.
Marcus Keleher led the Regals with three goals and two assists while Eric Snyder, Ethan Keleher, Owen Orpana, Jack MacAlpine and Parker Lock added single goals. Marcus Keleher and Orpana each had two assists while Dallon Evans, Cam Wheeldon, Ethan Keleher and MacAlpine each had one.
Cody Inness and Will MacLeod each had two goals and two assists for Hamilton while Blake Booth, Jean Luc Vereecke and Nathan Jones also scored. Getting one assist apiece were Tyson Allison, Ethan Guimond-Hayward and Justin Hill.
Hamilton outshot the locals 50-45.
Dante Mancini had 43 saves in net for the Regals while Cole Gervais had 37 saves for Hamilton.
The Regals are to complete a three-game homestand next Friday as they’re to host the Welland Generals at the Victoria Road arena at 8 p.m.
