Rocks connect to grab series lead from Shelburne

SHELBURNE – The Elora Rocks struck for a pair of goals 51 seconds apart late in the first period on their way to a 5-1 win over the Shelburne Muskies in Western Ontario Athletic Association senior men’s A semifinal playoff series Saturday night.

Those goals gave the Rocks a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period and they were ahead 4-0 after the second.

Stevie Alvo had two goals for Elora while Kevin Tuckey, Bradey Prosic and Lyam Cripps added single goals.

Trevor Vanalstine scored midway through the third for Shelburne.

The win gives Elora a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game 4 is scheduled for Friday at the Elora and District Community Centre. Game time is 8:30 p.m.
