Rocks put the sting on Killer Bees in WOSHL debut
ALVINSTON – The Elora Rocks made their debut in the brand new Western Ontario Super Hockey League Sponsored by Sleeman with a runaway 12-3 victory over the Alvinston Killer Bees Saturday night at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex.
The Rocks had their stamp on the game before the end of the second period as they carried a 9-1 lead into the third.

Tye Campbell connected for a hat trick for the Rocks while Jacob Black and Shaun Pickering tallied twice apiece. Single goals were added by Steven Dol, Chad Herron, Mason Sinkledam, Mark Hamilton and Alex Utley.
Edward Gaffney, Jeremey Goodwin, Utley and Luke Baleshta each had two assists while Hamilton, Black, Trevor Lord, Pickering, Dol, Spencer Maccormack and Zack Cameron had one apiece.
Brendon Merritt scored all three goals for Alvinston. Sebastien Nogueira assisted on two of them while Justin Lightfoot and Hayden Kelso each had one assist.
Ed Davey picked up the win as he played the complete game in net for Elora.
Nolan Hakr took the loss for Alvinston.

The game featured a brawl early in the third period that saw four players receive game misconducts including Sinkledam of the Rocks and Kain Hopkins of the Killer Bees who were assessed two apiece for continuing a fight. Pickering of the Rocks and Alex Cunningham of Alvinston had one each, also for continuing a fight.
Including the misconducts, Elora was whistled for 48 minutes in penalties and Alvinston was assessed 58. The Rocks had seven power plays to three for their hosts.
Next up for the Rocks is a match against the Stratford Fighting Irish at Stratford’s William Allman Arena Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The Fighting Irish were handed a 9-5 setback by the Tillsonburg Thunder in Saturday’s other game.
