Rocks sting winless Killer Bees for another victory
ALVINSTON – The Elora Rocks struck for four consecutive goals in the first period on their way to a 7-4 victory over the Alvinston Killer Bees in Western Ontario Super Hockey League play Saturday at the Brooke Alvinston Inwood Community Centre.
Alvinston opened the scoring in the first minute of the game before the Rocks shot ahead for good.

Elora led 4-2 at the end of the first period and 5-3 after the second.
Zack Cameron and Spencer Gourlay each scored twice for the Rocks while single goals were added by Jacob Black, Brad Krysko and Trevor Lord. Matteo Condotta, Andrew Whalen and Lord each had two assists while Gourlay, Chad Herron, Owyn Palmer, Cameron and Black each had one.
Justin Lightfoot, Cody Nicolaisen, Christian Moccia and Grant Spence registered a goal apiece for Alvinston while assists went to Nicolaisen, Spence, Lightfoot, Tyler Ryan, Blair Derynck and Sebastien Nogueira.
The Rocks outshot the Killer Bees 41-40 and didn’t get to use their power play in the game. The Killer Bees went 1-for-4 on their power play.
Anthony Marshall made 36 saves in the Elora net for the win while Nolan Hakr had 34 saves for Alvinston.
The Rocks have a pair of games on their schedule next weekend as they’re to host the Tillsonburg Thunder Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Elora and District Community Centre and they’re to play the Stratford Fighting Irish Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Stratford’s William Allman Memorial Arena.
