Ross hockey boys win battle of Royals to claim first

GUELPH – The Ross Royals secured a first-place finish in the District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league standings with a 3-1 victory over the Centre Dufferin Royals Monday at the Victoria Road arena.

Dylan Hudon had a goal and an assist for Ross while Tyler Baxter and Connor Snedden also scored. Getting one assist apiece were Jackson Phillips, Sam Berry and Chris Cabeldu.

Ty Murray had the lone goal for Centre Dufferin.

The game was the final one of the regular season for Ross and the win left them at 10-2-0-0.

Centre Dufferin is sixth at 3-6-0 and have three more games to play.

The league is to wrap up its regular season next week and start playoffs Feb. 19.
