Ross Royals down GCVI to move atop boys’ hockey loop

GUELPH – The Ross Royals erupted for an 8-1 victory over the Guelph CVI Green Gaels in District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey play Friday at the Victoria Road arena.

Jackson Phillips and Noah Sabourin each scored twice for Ross while single goals were added by Adam Best, Adam Nightingale, Mitch Penner and Carter Phillips. Jackson Phillips, Ethan Keleher, Connor Snedden and Hudon each had two assists while single assists were awarded to Sabourin, Nightingale, Carter Phillips, Darren Kusinski and Ryan Contini.

Triston Pavis scored for GCVI.

The win pushes Ross to the top of the league’s standings at 8-1-0-0. Centre Wellington Falcons are second at 7-1-0-1 while GCVI is seventh at 2-7-0-0.
