Ross Royals finish atop girls’ soccer standings

ORANGEVILLE – The Ross Royals completed their undefeated march through the District 10 high school girls’ soccer league’s compact regular season with a pair of wins Thursday at the third of three mini-tournaments.

The Royals edged the Bishop Macdonell Celtics 2-1 and Lourdes Crusaders 1-0 to finish the regular season first with wins in all seven of their games.

Abbi Morrell and Elizabeth Manning had a goal apiece in the win over Bishop Mac. The scorer for Bishop Mac was not reported.

Jordan Faveri had the lone goal in the match against Lourdes.

By finishing atop the standings, Ross is to host the eighth-place Orangeville Bears in Monday’s quarter-finals.

In the other quarter-finals, all slated for 4 p.m. Monday, second-place Guelph CVI Green Gaels are to play the seventh-place Lourdes Crusaders at the Gryphon Soccer Complex, third-place Bishop Mac is to host sixth-place Centennial Spartans at Bishop Mac and the fourth-place St. James Lions are to play the fifth-place Centre Wellington Falcons at St. James.

Olivia Puddephatt, Carla Pizzaro and Kristen Kohlmeier scored the goals for GCVI.

Sean Milligan had the goal for Centennial.

Caitlan Krasinski had a hat trick for St. James while Lily Campbell and Taite Sinkledam also scored.

Brooklyn Moschuk was the scorer for Lourdes.

Meghan Brant and Sean Milligan had a goal apiece for Centennial.


Guelph CVI 4 Centre Wellington 0

Kristen Kohlmeier and Jasmine Hasmatali scored twice each for GCVI while Ryley Wheelhouse was credited with the shutout.


Bishop Macdonell 3 St. James 1

Claudia Golebiowski hit for a pair of goals for Bishop Mac while Katiana DeLiberali also scored.

Eva D’Andrea had the goal for St. James.
