Ross Royals finish senior hoops season undefeated

GUELPH – While the Ross Royals completed an undefeated run through the District 10 high school senior boys’ basketball league’s regular season, the Guelph CVI Green Gaels and St. James Lions both won to remain in a tie following the final day of the regular season Monday.

Ross defeated the Bishop Macdonell Celtics 68-58 for their 14th win in as many league games. Earlier in the day, GCVI rebounded to down the Orangeville Bears 54-38 while St. James downed the Centre Wellington Falcons 59-36.

While Ross finished atop the standings, Bishop Mac was fourth at 9-5 while St. James and GCVI tied at 5-9 and Centre Wellington and Orangeville tied at 1-13.

The Lions won the tiebreaker with the Gaels thanks to a seven-point win over GC at GC last month. The Gaels had defeated the Lions by two at St. James in December.
