Ross Royals remain undefeated in field hockey
GUELPH – The Ross Royals stand as the lone unbeaten team in District 4/10 high school girls’ field hockey play after taking a pair of games at Bishop Macdonell Wednesday.
The Royals defeated the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 2-1 and the Bishop Mac Celtics 3-0 as the league’s top three gathered for a tripleheader in league play.
GCVI blanked Bishop Mac 2-0 in the other match.
Ross leads the league with five wins in five outings while GCVI is second at 4-1-0 and Bishop Mac third at 3-2-1. They’re followed by the Centennial Spartans at 2-2-0, Centre Wellington Falcons at 1-3-1, Centre Dufferin Royals at 0-1-2, Orangeville Bears at 1-2-0 and Wellington Heights Wolverines at 0-5-0.

A goal by Courtney Phillips in the final minute of the match gave Ross the win. Sarah Taylor scored the other goal.
Jasmine Hasmatali scored for GCVI.

Lauren Brulotte, Brooke Frasson and Courtney Phillips had a goal apiece for Ross.
Guelph CVI 2 Bishop Macdonell 0
Maggie Smart struck for both goals for GCVI.
Centre Wellington 2 Wellington Heights 0
Ashley Elliot scored both goals as Centre Wellington picked up its first win of the season.
