
Royals all alone in third in senior girls’ basketball
GUELPH – The Ross Royals moved into sole possession of third place in the District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball league with a 67-25 triumph over the Lourdes Crusaders at Ross Tuesday.
Ross led 19-6 at the end of the first quarter, 36-13 at halftime and 53-17 after the third quarter.
The Royals had five players hit double figures in the game. Ailani Curvan led with 18 points while Devin Eddy had 11. Abby Blashuk, Charlie Capper and Sikar Tesfit each netted 10.
McKenna Codrington had eight points for Lourdes while Olivia Doucette had six and Kayla Schaus added five.
Guelph CVI Green Gaels are the lone undefeated team in the all-Guelph league as they’re at 3-0. Centennial Spartans are at 3-1 while the Royals are at 2-1. Both the Crusaders and the Bishop Macdonell Celtics are at 1-2 and the St. James Lions are at 0-4.

Martina Gazzola had nine for Bishop Mac.
Junior Girls
Guelph CVI 40 Centre Wellington 28
Ally Ostrander led GCVI with a 12-point outing while Jenna Gendy contributed 10.
Willow Green had 10 for Centre Wellington and Sydney Sellers chipped in with eight.
The result leaves both teams with 2-2 records.
Orangeville Bears lead the league at 3-0 while the Bishop Macdonell Celtics are at 3-1. Ross Royals are at 1-2 and the Centennial Spartans are at 0-4.
