District 10

Royals double Lions to top D10 baseball loop

GUELPH – The Ross Royals moved to the top of the District 10 high school baseball standings Thursday with a 6-3 victory over the St. James Lions in a rematch of last season’s championship game at Pearson Park.

In Thursday’s other game, also at Pearson Park, the Lourdes Crusaders edged the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 8-7.

Ross leads the league at 2-0-0 while the Centennial Spartans are at 1-0-0. Lourdes and St. James are both at 1-1-0 while the Bishop Macdonell Celtics are at 0-1-0 and GCVI is at 0-2-0.

League play is to resume with a pair of games Monday at Pearson Park.
